Family Practice - Internal Medicine
First year residents spend two months working side-by-side with internal medicine residents caring for patients on the general medicine inpatient floors. Each first year resident is paired with a family practice senior who helps guide them and provide a supportive quality learning experience. Supervised daily rounds, frequent conferences, and one-on-one teaching with various specialists, family medicine and internal medicine faculty ensure a well-rounded learning experience.
Second year residents spend two months rotating on the internal medicine floors while supervising the first year family practice intern. The senior resident on this rotation acts as team leader, supervising the family practice intern, performing procedures, presenting at rounds, caring for teaching patients and becoming an integral member of the patient care team. |
